Over the weekend reports surfaced that popular on-air personality Freeze was “sacked” by Cool FM, a station he has been with for 15 years. He however went on Instagram to dispel the rumours, going as far as saying that he’d sue the bloggers that picked up the news.
The original news report stated that Freeze had been fired for posting an “inappropriate” post about Basketmouth’s wife. The report also stated that Basketmouth had played a part in Freeze losing his job.
Replying the reports, Freeze said “Yes, there are issues stemming from a meeting over presenters fees yesterday, details of which I choose not to discuss, because of the respect I have for Mr Moussalli and his family and Coolfm, but trust me, it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Basket mouth or social media…….”
This afternoon he shared a video of himself driving to work and he captioned “Arriving @coolfmlagos for my show this afternoon! Listen to the#RoadShow with @kaylahoniwo @djxclusive83 and I, it’s going to be#Awesome! #Rolex #AstonMartin#Vantage #V12.#YourNo_1HitMusicStation”
The OAP spoke exclusively with BN a couple of minutes ago to clear up ALL the rumours from over the weekend.
According to him, the most important thing is that Cool FM knows where his loyalty lies. He says Cool FM is like his family and like in any family there will be issues, but you always work through them and move on. He says he and his boss (who he calls his father), had a long talk this morning over all the drama over the weekend. Freeze admits that it was disheartening for him to wake up and see such false stories being reported about him.
Thankful for an opportunity to clear the air, he says that he is right where he belongs and he is going nowhere.
According to him, he has been with Cool FM right from his NYSC days in 2001 and it is more than a family to him, it is a brand.
