Freedom Chapel International is a Pentecostal and Charismatic Christian Church based in Accra, Ghana. With Branches and Affiliations Nationwide, particularly characterized by the Immense Outreach Project and the Massive Contribution to the Prayer life line of the Nation and the General Revolution of Christianity Worldwide.

It all began with the Spirit filled journey of Apostle Francis Amoako-Attah as he answered the call of God in the 1990’s coming from an Apostolic and Pentecostal background, he had a passion to minister to lost souls and spread the gospel. He then started off as an Evangelist and the vision has over the years intensified to the point of desperation as the coming of Christ becomes more imminent.

Apostle Francis Amoako-Attah – Founder of Freedom Chapel International

It all began with the Spirit filled journey of Apostle Francis Amoako-Attah as he answered the call of God in the 1990’s

It is this vision that birthed Freedom Chapel International, a Pentecostal and Charismatic Christian Church, and many other ministries, confirming the tangible Presence and Will of God. To Him be all the Glory as we remember and record our humble beginnings and how far God has brought us.
The Church started with Morning Devotions held by the founder in a compound house in which he lived with his friend. As the number of members increased, it grew into a ‘Prayer Group’ of which services were held every Thursdays and Saturdays. As time went on, it became one of the effective and vibrant Prayer Groups in the country. People were being helped, catered for by various means and Supported Financially, others were putted into training to acquire skills to work with. Some also benefited medically, intellectually and shelter provided for the homeless. In view of these gestures, the members and even outsiders eventually named the Prayer Group “WE CARE”. The steady increase in the number of the members led to the formation of a Fellowship which was named ‘International Christian Fellowship’ It was operational from June 1997 to 1999. Even up to that time services were held without any offering taken from day one.

Rev. Mrs. Mavis Amoako-Attah, Mama Mavis as affectionately called is the better half of the Founder, Apostle Francis Amoako-Attah. She is an ordained Reverend Minister with an Evangelical and Prophetic ministry.

The name Freedom Chapel was brought up as a result of the defensive nature of the founder in seeking redemption and spiritual welfare for his members and anyone who came in contact with him.

Most of the members of the Fellowship were no more attending their regular places of worship on Sundays, they rather replaced it with their usual fellowship gatherings till they finally requested for Sunday Church Services in addition to the Fellowship meeting days. So the Fellowship was changed to a Church and named Freedom Chapel International. The name Freedom Chapel was brought up as a result of the defensive nature of the founder in seeking redemption and spiritual welfare for his members and anyone who came in contact with him. Therefore, being named the ‘Freedom Fighter’; few Men of God had revelations concerning the name ‘Freedom’. The name ‘Freedom Chapel’ was then considered, and after the choice of name had been well prayed over by the entire clergy, it was chosen and officially name Freedom Chapel International.

The Freedom Voices

As time went on, the Church decided to move to a new location conducive enough to enhance the growth of its population. This decision coincided with his ordination from prophetic office to an Apostle. Thousands of worshipers came together to help put up a church building for the ordination to take place within two weeks.
The historic move was made on May 15th, 2006 from our previous location (Hong Kong) Nyamekye to our present place of worship Located at Odorkor Official Town (near market) a newly acquired Church property which was built exactly in two weeks. A distance of about three(3) kilometers from the house in which we conducted our prayer group way back. Symbolically it was a significant move known across the Nation.
