My name is Rahama Ibrahim Sadau. I was born on the 7th of December 1993 in Kaduna, Nigeria. I am an actress and winner of Best Actress (Kannywood) at the City People Award 2014. I am often referred to as “Priyanka”. My recent debut to Nigeria’s Nollywood Industry has been amazing and has opened so many new doors for me. I recently won Best African Actress at the 19th African Film Awards by African Voice – Britain’s No.1 African Newspaper.
I studied Business Administration at Kaduna Polytechnic and joined the Hausa movie industry (Kannywood) in 2013. I speak Hindi fluently. I played a few minor roles before gaining fame from my appearance in “Gani ga Wane” alongside Ali Nuhu.
In addition to acting in films, I participate in charity work and most recently visited an IDP camp in Wasa, Abuja, Nigeria. This was organised by my charitable initiative Ray of Hope. I also participated in the 2015 Cancer day Walk organised by Medicaid. I am currently exploring possibilities to use my fame for a good cause. I hope to pursue various causes such as girl education, women empowerment and women’s rights. My particular interest concentrates on women’s issues, including safety and gender equality.
