On this beautiful morning, I want to join every member of this ministry to celebrate all our Pastors in the Headquarter church. I salute these great men and women of God who stand by us day and night to see that the work of the ministry progresses. Like you rightly know, Bishop Peace and I cannot do it all alone. The work is greater than two people particularly with the global responsibility that the Lord has given to us. Thank God for these faithful, reliable and dependable men and women who keep the home front while we are away and stand in support while we are around.
These men and women have over the years helped to interpret our dreams and visions and also ensure that they are translated to reality. When you consider the successes that King David recorded in the Bible, you would realize that he couldn’t have accomplished such great feats without the help of able men. God raised up mighty men of valor who helped him to strengthen the Kingdom even at the risk of their own lives. You will also find this principle demonstrated in Exodus 17. That was a time when Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim under the leadership of Moses. Let us look at the story again.
EXODUS 17: 11 – 13 {KJV}
“And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone and put it under him and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua discomfited AMALEK AND HIS PEOPLE WITH THE EDGE OF THE SWORD.’’
When you read this story too quickly, you would think the real hero was Joshua who did the physical fighting, but the true heroes where the people on the hill – Moses, Aaron and Hur. When the hands of Moses were up, Israel prevailed over their enemies. Moses no doubt, was the man with the grace and anointing but he could not keep up his hands for so long all by himself. He needed an ‘Aaron’ and a ‘Hur’ to assist him, and for as long as they held up his hands, Israel got the victory. In like manner, our Pastors in the Headquarter church are the Aarons and Hurs who hold up our hands to see that the work of the Kingdom progresses.
Beloved, as we appreciate these Pastors today, I don’t want you to just toss something into the offering bowl, go out of your way, write a cheque, give generously and as you do God will also reach out to you beyond your imagination.
As I salute these men and women of God, I also salute their spouses who stand by them when on duty. Many times we have called these men and women at very odd hours to either go to the hospital, rush to a member’s house or just stand in the gap praying and each time we have called, they have been there. This could not have happened without the support of their spouses. I know that the Lord for whom you have sacrificed your family time and comfort, just to serve in this capacity, will surely reward you. I salute you and it is my sincere prayer that you will fulfill purpose. All that the Lord has ordained for you will surely come to pass.
