Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi of the Glorious Wave Church in Accra, declared 2017 to be ‘the year of Progress’.
In a service monitored by the Nigerian Television Authority ( NTA ) and attended by over 5,000 worshipers, Emmanuel Kobi preached to his congregation a sermon titled, ‘All is about Progress’.
He told worshipers that the word “‘Bless’ means ‘you will take the lead’ declaring “God is responsible for your life and he will go ahead of you for your change”.
“Blessing means something to push you to meet your helpers, God taking you from where you are to where he wants to see you. Where you are is not your final destination but it’s for your transition” he declared.
Speaking on the meaning of ‘Progress’, he said progress simply mean “Seeing advancement, taking the lead, been better than the rest, it also means to always be the first, people should look at you that you are the number one.”
“If nobody cannot describes your success, your success is in recession because if there is turn around, there will be talk about.”
He listed 7 areas of progress as:
1. Paper money progress, you need paper money progress
2. Materials things progress
3. Health progress, there must be progress in your bodily organs
4. Right relationship, good people must be around you
5. Appearance, you cannot be seen as progressing if your appearance cannot speak for you.
6. There must be progress in your mind
7. You must progress in Observation, if people don’t observe you, you are outdated. Jesus said you must first watch and pray. The church must be observant.

1. All about Progress. The word blessed means you can’t help yourself, God is your helper. Forget about the past years; God has something better for you. Where you are is not enough, keep moving forward.
2. What is Progress? The following are characteristics of progress;
i. Seeing advancement
ii. Taking the lead
iii. Being better than others. In life, if you are not envied, you have not progressed yet. Gen 26:13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: 14 For he had possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
iv. You must be different from others
v. First among the rest; with progress, people must testify that you are ahead of them.
If nobody can describe your progress, it’s not better. If you are not a “talk about” you have not been turned about.
Matthew 5:13
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
Jesus was noticeable where ever He was; you must live the same life so far as you are connected to Him. When others are crying, you will be laughing.
3. Areas of Progress
i. Paper money progress. You need this kind of progress for your up keep. The money in your hands must increase. With material things you can serve God very well and also gain respect. Jesus knowing this history, never walked with the poor. Women are interested in rich men than handsome men. You can’t have a good life without money.
3 John 1:2 Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
ii. Material things progress. What you don’t have on earth, you can’t handle in heaven. You must increase in material things. Psalm 112:3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth forever. Wealth isn’t vanity as Solomon described it; it gives you the opportunity to live a kingdom life on earth.
iii. Good health; your organs must be progressive. No doctor must admit you at his hospital. I stop any wrong thing in your body in the name of Jesus.
iv. Right relations; separate yourself from wrong people. Associate with people with vision. Walk with people that will add something positive to your life.
v. Appearance; any Christian who doesn’t have good appearance can never resemble Christ. Jesus’s clothing smelled well. No one can tell if you are broke once you appear well.
vi. Mind progress; you must progress physically before mind progress. Progress of the mind secures your future.
vii. Observation; you must appreciate nature. If your wife is not watched when she is out, it means she is outmoded. Whatever good thing you want; watch. God gave you eyes to watch. The church is not observing. Everything spiritual about the Christian must end in the natural.
