Intimate and Stylish Essex County Courthouse Wedding: Toussaint + Yoofi

The wedding we’re sharing with you is simple as can be but packed with plenty of soul. Toussaint and Yoofi are a laid back couple not into trends or fads. For starters, they met on OK Cupid. And when it came time to take things to the next level, a conversation about getting married was enough for them to get started on planning the wedding. Toussaint recalls, “The proposal was very informal as it was just a conversation between the two of us and we decided we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. He did talk to my father, and once he got an enthusiastic approval, we started planning hard core.” Wedding planning was easy — they got married at a courthouse surrounded by their closest family and friends. But although their wedding was simple, it has to be one of the most gorgeous we’ve featured. Toussaint is a personal stylist, so her choice for a wedding gown – a mauve, one shoulder gown from Asos – was truly refreshing. And it doesn’t hurt that they hired Nana Annan Photography to capture the day perfectly.

Thanks Toussaint and Yoofi for sharing your gorgeous wedding with us. We wish you the best of marriage!

Wedding Style:

My wedding dress was a one shoulder, column dress with a side split…in mauve. Fashionable, chic, sexy. Exactly what I wanted. Well, I initially had settled on one dress and was happy with it but not in love with it. One day I was on Asos, looking for something completely different and something just said, let me look at their dresses. I saw it and knew it’s what I wanted to be married in. It felt like me.

Memories: What is your best memory from your wedding?
My best memory from the wedding was the vows. Because we got married at the courthouse I wasn’t what the vows would be like. The officiant started reciting them and they were just lovely and really embodied Yoofi and I.

Advice: What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?

The best wedding advice I can give is to just try and relax and enjoy the moment. Is someone late? Oh well, don’t let it steal your joy. This is your day. Just take it all in.
