For Jesus to say love God with all your heart presupposes that there is a competitor(Matt 6:24). Our heart is daily battled over by a spirit called mammon. This also suggest why most people are unstable.
Briefly, why should you love God with all your heart?
1. God is man’s source (Isaiah 45:9, 12,18). Now ask yourself if a source of anything is broken what happens? We are there expected to stay connected to our source.
2. Isaiah 45:6 says that there is no other God from one end of the world to the other. So then who should we look up to? We must look up to our maker because God is man’s owner. Let your trust be in God (Jer 17:5, Ps 100:5).
3. God is man’s king. A king also means a controller, authority, ruler, head etc. An authority and a follower or people who should control the other? The aforementioned words implies that God should be the one to control us and we should submit ourselves to His authority(Isaiah 44:6).
4. God is man’s model and man must partner with Him. Any man’s equation minus God equals error. God is inviting you to come and reason with Him now (Matt 11:28-29, Isaiah 1:18). Don’t you seek inspiration from your mentor on this earth? If so then why do away with God in your endeavors?
5. Without His breath we are nobody. Meaning God is life giver. So why don’t you love God with all your heart if he is sustained. Job 12.10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?
To conclude, common sense gives you common life so have the uncommon sense of God to live an uncommon life by loving God with all your heart. Amen!!
