A Street has been named after Noella Wiyaala, Ghanaian Afro pop singer-songwriter who sings in her native Sissala and Waale dialects and English, often combining all three languages within her songs.
The “Wiyaala Street” located at Funsi, district capital of the Wa East District of the Upper West region was in honour of the musician’s exploits and her ability to bring honour to the people of the area,
According to her, the authorities claimed they had a surprise for her only to be told they had named a street after her.
