Nigerian Think Tank Group United Kingdom (NTTG UK) hosted the Nigerian Diaspora Day in London on the 25th July 2016 simultaneously as it was celebrated in Abuja. The event took place at The Clubhouse next to Chatham House.
The Chairman of the occasion was The Acting High Commissioner of the Nigeria High Commission (NHC), Mr Adah Simon Ogah, who was competently represented by Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq, Minister/Head of Section (NHC).
The Chairman’s address amongst other issues, centred on how the Diaporans should work closely with the High Commission to showcase achievements in the community. He applauded the Group for its sense of giving back to Nigeria especially in this time of the country’s dire need.
The goodwill message from the Presidency through the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa was also delivered to the gathering by the Initiator, and Co-Chairman of the Group, Dr Dapo Williams.
The Special Guest for the day, Dr Timi Austen Peters – Chairman, Dorman Long Engineering emboldened the attendees with his own life history as a former Diasporan, now making waves in Nigeria, and globally.
